Welcome to my website

Thank you for taking an interest in the work I do as Member of Parliament for Tatton.

As your re-elected Member of Parliament, I represent everyone in Tatton - not just those who voted for me. Even though I now have the added responsibility of the office of Chancellor of the Exchequer, I will never forget that my first duty is to those who elected me. I am, first and foremost, your MP and will always be here to assist you with any problems and stand up for your views and concerns.

You can use this site to contact me about issues that concern you and bring local problems to my attention. Please see the Contact page or, if you'd prefer, you can leave a letter at the Conservative office at the top of Manchester Road in Knutsford.

Thank you once again for placing your trust in me.

On Tuesday, George helped pour the first pint to launch a new beer, ‘Pennies from 11’, brewed locally in Tatton Brewery. The beer- which is being served across bars in Parliament as well as locally- has been brewed to commemorate the scrapping of the Beer Duty Escalator which George announced in the recent March Budget.  Under Labour’s plans beer duty would have risen by 3p a pint this year. Instead the Budget cancelled the 3p rise, but also introduced a further 1p cut - saving drinkers 4p a pint compared to Labour’s plans. George was joined by Head Brewer, Gregg Sawyer and colleague Colin Hurrell as well as fellow MP’s and members of the All-Party Parliamentary Beer Group. George commented: “I am delighted to help celebrate the launch of ‘Pennies from 11’. It is fantastic that this new local brew is being served across Cheshire and in Parliament to celebrate the scrapping of the damaging Beer Duty Escalator. People working hard up and down the country want to enjoy a pint at end of the day and this is one way we can make that a little bit more affordable and help families with the cost of living”.
